Virginia Layman is a very accomplished cellist with a passion for teaching.   She is patient, caring, and enjoys working with each student’s individual learning style. Her accomplishments include performing in many locations around the country, including Chicago’s International Music Festival, Disney World in Orlando. FL, the Governor’s Mansion in Atlanta, GA, the Realto Theatre at Georgia State University, The Schwartz Center for Performing Arts, Woodruff Arts Center, and others.

Her favorite type of performing is collaborative, and she is an excellent teacher for students who participate with orchestras and other ensembles.  She is refreshingly honest and shares her insights with a gentle and dry sense of humor.  Her students look forward to their lessons and excel under her guidance.
