Pianist, Piano Instructor, Music Therapist
JENNIFER GREENE
Jennifer Greene, pianist/accompanist, music instructor, music director, and music therapist, began her career at age 11 when her school music teacher invited her to accompany the elementary school chorus at the county-wide choral festival. Jennifer went on to graduate with honors in piano performance from Northside School of the Arts in Atlanta. She was awarded an academic music scholarship and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Jennifer was awarded a graduate scholarship from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, and earned her master’s degree in Expressive Therapies specializing in Music Therapy. She joined the faculty following graduation and co-taught the graduate level course Clinical Musicianship. As a music therapist, she has had the privilege of working with children with developmental delays, adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities, and children, adults, and elders in hospice care.
She has taught piano and music theory to children and adults and has mentored youth musicians in schools, churches, and community music programs around the US. Jennifer believes strongly in the power of music to promote learning, to increase self-awareness, to inspire joy and creativity, to facilitate emotional expression, and to nourish the soul. She is excited to be part of the teaching family at Intown Conservatory of Music.
