Andrew Kapsar

Andrew Kapsar, baritone, is an active performer based in the Atlanta area. He recently graduated from Florida State University where he earned his Bachelor of Music under internationally acclaimed tenor Dr. Jeffrey Springer. His masters degree will be completed at Georgia State University.

While at FSU, Andrew portrayed the leading roles of the Father in Hansel & Gretel, David in A Hand of Bridge, and Reginald Bunthorne in Patience. He has performed in Urbania, Italy with the Festival of International Opera singing the role of Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro. Roles he has performed on the GSU stage include Silvio in I Pagliacci, Maestro Spinelloccio in Gianni Schicchi, Escamillo in Carmen, and Elder McLean in Susannah.

Andrew performed in the chorus of Tosca with the traveling company Teatro Lirico d’Europa, and he is a regular performer with the Atlanta Opera. 

In addition to his vocal skills, Andrew is also an active and experienced collaborative pianist and enjoys accompanying singers of all ages, skill levels, and styles. Having played the piano since he was a child, Andrew has gained several years of experience on the instrument and has been passing on his knowledge to students young and old, beginner and advanced for several years.
