Uniqueness of Intown Conservatory of Music

What sets us apart at Intown Conservatory of Music?

Since our founding, Intown Conservatory of Music has grown from a small piano studio into a thriving community of musicians, educators, and students. What began with a handful of piano students has evolved into a dynamic school specializing in piano, strings and voice.

We offer a wide range of programs, from individual instruction and group classes to recitals, workshops, and community events. Our commitment to fostering talent and inspiring creativity has attracted students of all ages and skill levels, helping us expand our team of expert instructors and broaden our curriculum. As we continue to grow, we remain dedicated to creating an inclusive and vibrant space where every student can reach their full musical potential.

Director Ruthanna McAlister’s background began with studying at Cadek Conservatory of Music in Chattanooga, TN where she was eventually awarded a teaching internship which she held for four years while earning her undergraduate degree.  She has both bachelors and masters degrees in piano performance and has been teaching piano and theory for over 30 years.  She has taught at Montessori schools, at the university level, and in many different states across the country.

Here at Intown Conservatory of Music, each student receives a reserved lesson time and a fun learning experience based on not just learning to play, but learning music theory, composition, improvisation and performing. Lessons are conducted in two locations with high quality instruments.  In-home lessons can be conducted on a case by case basis, providing there is an appropriate instrument. When we have recitals, they are in a professional performing environment complete with stage lighting and again, high quality grand pianos.
